Description:
As a border state and strategic territory, Kentucky was fiercely contested by the Union and the Confederacy and had ties to both Abraham Lincoln and Jefferson Davis. Join us as we plot the course for a fun-filled road trip through history and across the Bluegrass State exploring historic sites where the two Presidents grew up and where the battles were fought. Author Blair Thomas Hess will offer travel tips and recommendations for the best sites, monuments, and attractions from presidential homes to the best modern re-enactments. She will also provide suggestions for traveling with the whole family and making the most fun out of history. A book signing will follow with all of the My Old Kentucky Road Trip titles available for purchase.
